In a report published on Tuesday, the French Audit Office (Cour des Comptes) recommends the introduction of "a professional card for diagnosticians" to ensure the reliability of the Energy Performance Diagnostic (DPE), the main tool for energy-efficient building renovation. Regularly accused of being the subject of fraud, manipulation and "wet-finger" approximations, the DPE is now mandatory for all property rentals and sales.
