On Wednesday, the Palais de la Bourse in Lyon was alive with the rhythm of the 7ᵉ edition of the Ciel trade show (Construction et immobilier d'entreprise lyonnais).
Organized by the Lyon Métropole Saint-Étienne Roanne Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), the event brought together more than 70 exhibitors, offering a forum for exchange in a Lyon real estate market undergoing rapid transformation. Indeed, according to the latest figures published by Brice Robert Arthur Loyd, a Lyon-based commercial real estate consultancy, the Lyon commercial real estate market totaled 249,355 m² placed in 2024, with over 500 transactions.
Between rising costs, environmental pressure and changing uses, the challenges are many. BureauxLocaux and Business Immo were on hand.
The city of tomorrow: a central debate
The show opened with a conference dedicated to the city of tomorrow, during which Grégory Fouque, Chairman of Promoval, stressed the imperative of close collaboration between economic players and local authorities to build a desirable, sober and sustainable city: "All players must be committed to local authorities", he asserted, underlining the difficulty for the city of tomorrow to integrate economic players in his view.
Loïc de Villard, President of Fnaim, reminded us that "a city doesn't change in two minutes, and we are already involved in its construction". He also highlighted the major signals to be considered: new ways of working and awareness of environmental issues, as well as the growing importance of the reversibility and flexibility of spaces.
In addition to the opening conference, the Ciel show featured six conferences addressing key themes such as the Lyon market, new uses, reindustrialization and the real estate strategy of owner-users. Three thematic workshops also explored topics such as exemplary business parks, territorial well-being and HQE certification.
Finally, this 2025 edition, held for the first time over a single day instead of two, featured an AI Village. This new space highlighted concrete applications of artificial intelligence in real estate and construction.
