An unpublished desk by Carlo Mollino at auction

As the fiftieth anniversary of the death of Carlo Mollino (1905-1973) is celebrated this year, the Artcurial auction house presents an important desk by Carlo Mollino for Lattes Editori in Turin, estimated at €250,000-350,000, at its sale dedicated to Italian design on March 28. Designed by the famous Italian architect and designer for the Turin publishing house in the 1950s, this desk is considered one of the artist's masterpieces. Characterized by a light, organic construction, forms and voids balanced with elegantly combined materials, this desk embodies Mollino's unique, architectural and aerodynamic creations, illustrating both his artistic and technical daring and his unique aesthetic. Presented for the first time at auction after almost 40 years in a private collection, it offers a rare opportunity for collectors to acquire an original piece illustrating the creative genius of Carlo Mollino. The sale will also feature exceptional pieces by Gio Ponti, such as a wall cabinet in Ferrara olive veneer for the Hotel Royal in Naples, and a piece of hanging furniture created in collaboration with Fontana Arte.
