JLL broker Patrick Baughman, who co-founded a foundation to recognize his best friend in college who died of a brain tumor, has been named Young Professional of the Year by the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors.

ACBR selected Baughman for the award for commercial Realtors who are 36 or younger to highlight excellence in civic engagement and business accomplishments. He serves as chairman of the Knox Martin Foundation for Brain Cancer Research, a nonprofit organization with a mission to fund innovative research on aggressive brain cancers. The group is named for Knox Martin, who died in 2020 from a glioblastoma, a type of brain tumor for which there is no cure.

On the professional side, Baughman made his mark when he played an important role in converting a requirement for an additional 10,000 square feet of storage space into a 90,000-square-foot headquarters relocation of an Alpharetta, Georgia-based manufacturing company.

“Patrick embodies every aspect of ACBR’s Young Professional of the Year, and is a great representation of how our next generation of professionals are stepping up to make Atlanta a better place,” Ryanne Pennington, JLL Atlanta brokerage lead, said in an email.

Baughman, who served as an intern at JLL and then joined the firm full-time after graduating from the University of Georgia in 2019, is an associate on JLL Atlanta's tenant representation brokerage team.

"I'm grateful for the opportunity to not only grow my career at JLL, but also play an active role in the education and mentorship of the future generation of commercial real estate professionals," he said in an email.
