Brixmor CEO Takes Medical Leave of Absence

Brixmor Property Group, a real estate investment trust that owns open-air shopping centers, said President and CEO Jim Taylor started a temporary medical leave of absence last week. The retail REIT did not offer more information about Taylor's condition. Brixmor said its board appointed Brian Finnegan, its chief operating officer and senior executive vice president, to serve as interim president and CEO until Taylor returns. Taylor, who has more than 20 years of industry experience, was appointed CEO of Brixmor in May 2016. Prior to joining Brixmor, Taylor served as chief financial officer, treasurer and executive vice president of Federal Realty Investment Trust. Taylor also is serving as 2024 chairman of the International Council of Shopping Centers, or ICSC, and is on the executive board of Nareit, the association representing real estate investment trusts.
JLL Taps Head of Solutions Development for Work Dynamics
JLL has promoted Jessica Pernicone to the position of global head of solutions development for its work dynamics business. In her new role, Pernicone oversees the team that works with JLL's occupier clients and creates customized solutions to help the businesses best use and manage their spaces. She joined the work dynamics group when she started at JLL in 2013. Pernicone specializes in using technology to let life science, financial services, manufacturing and technology businesses successfully manage their real estate portfolios, JLL said. “Creating diverse and inclusive environments where individuals can thrive by being their authentic selves, build personal connections among teams and foster collaboration is a passion of mine and drives collective success," Pernicone said in a statement. Before she joined JLL, Pernicone served as a vice president in DTZ's global corporate services group.
Cushman & Wakefield Hires Managing Director of Investor Services
Cushman & Wakefield has hired Marc Franco, who previously served as an executive at USSA International, the U.S. subsidiary of Saudi Arabia sovereign wealth fund PIF, as managing director of investor services. In his new role. Franco will focus on working with Cushman & Wakefield's institutional clients in the East region and make sure they have access to the firm’s platform of investor services that include agency leasing, property management, valuation and advisory and project and development services. He will work in partnership with Kristina Wollan, who leads investor services in the West region, and be based in the firm’s midtown Manhattan office, the brokerage said. Prior to working at USSA, he served as head of real estate asset management in the Americas at Credit Suisse, where he managed a multi-billion dollar office portfolio throughout North America.
CBRE Investment Management Taps Americas Head of Client Solutions

CBRE Investment Management has tapped Scott Silverberg, who has 22 years of experience in real estate and infrastructure investments, as its Americas head of client solutions. In his new role based in New York, Silverberg will lead the Americas client solutions team and will be responsible for driving engagement with Americas-based investors, CBRE IM said. He also will work closely with CBRE IM’s business lines, including direct real estate, indirect real estate and private infrastructure, to deliver strategies for clients, the firm said. Silverberg previously led strategic partnerships at Oxford Properties, where he oversaw partner relationship management and capital formation activities. Before working at Oxford, he spent more than 10 years helping to build the real estate and infrastructure investment programs in the U.S. and Europe for Nippon Life Global Investors. He also has worked at Brookfield Properties, Tishman Speyer and CBRE.
Colliers Names Industry Veteran To Lead Silicon Valley Brokerage

Colliers U.S. has announced Bryan Courson, a longtime Newmark leader in San Francisco, as executive managing director and brokerage market leader of its Silicon Valley and San Francisco Peninsula operations. In his new role at Colliers, Courson will oversee brokerage operations, business development and employee recruitment and retention in the two regions, the firm said. Courson will report to David Josker, president of Colliers' U.S. West region brokerage. Courson joined Colliers from Newmark, where he worked for nearly 14 years and most recently served as an executive managing director. Before that, he worked for more than eight years at Newmark Cornish & Carey and nearly 10 years at Cassidy Turley BT Commercial. With Courson now at the helm of its Silicon Valley and San Francisco Peninsula operations, "Colliers is well positioned to increase market share as well as attract and retain top talent," Josker said in a statement.
Eastdil Appoints Managing Director in Ireland

Eastdil Secured, with its headquarters in New York City, has hired Johnny Horgan as a managing director in Ireland. He started the new role April 8 in Dublin, Eastdil said. He succeeded Peter Geisselm, who the firm said will be moving into the role of senior adviser. Horgan brings nearly 30 years of real estate and capital markets experience to Eastdil Secured. He most recently worked as a consultant with Alantra, a global financial services firm. Before that, Horgan served as managing director of Europe at digital property company BidX1, where he led its international expansion. He also worked for five years as executive director and head of capital markets at CBRE Ireland and as a fund management executive at Irish Life Investment Management. Horgan's experience and knowledge of the property market in Ireland position him as "an important addition to our growing European team and to our clients in Ireland,” James McCaffrey, managing director and head of European business at Eastdil Secured, said in a statement.
