Avison Young picked Scott Carter as principal of the brokerage’s healthcare and life science practice in Texas. Based in Houston, he provides commercial real estate advisory and transaction services for clients including hospital systems, physician groups, post-acute and behavioral health operators, and public and private healthcare and life sciences investors, Avison Young said.
Carter, who brings over 20 years of experience in healthcare and life science real estate services, also works alongside Jay Johnson, principal and executive managing director of the firm’s healthcare services group, to drive growth. He joined Avison Young from CBRE, where he served for the past decade as a senior vice president.
Kathrine Gillis joined Cushman & Wakefield as a director of brokerage in its Dallas-Fort Worth office. In her new role, she will focus on supporting brokers and their teams while advancing the company’s overall business objectives, the real estate services firm said. Gillis joined Cushman from CBRE, where she led retail advisory for Texas.
Colliers added Allie Gaeta as a senior vice president in Philadelphia. Joining the Golarz-Williams Industrial team, she brings over a decade of experience and a specialty in agency leasing across central Pennsylvania. She joined the company from Cushman & Wakefield and also previously held roles at NAI and Lee & Associates.
In Jacksonville, Florida, NAI Hallmark added Marc Scaffe as the firm’s chief operating officer for property management. Joining from CBRE, Scaffe will oversee property management operations for the Florida market, including Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa, Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale and Miami, NAI Hallmark said. Prior to his time at CBRE, he held senior leadership positions at Rouse Co., Lincoln Property Co., the Hogan Group, and Moor and South.
Charlotte, North Carolina’s Crescent Communities promoted Benjamin Collins to president of multifamily. In his new role, he will lead the direction, growth and performance of the company’s multifamily division and the Novel brand under which it builds apartments.
Collins, a Crescent Communities team member for over 16 years, will oversee development, investment and operations nationwide, the company said.
Dallas-based S2 Capital appointed Carl Starry to lead its new multifamily and industrial development platform focused on major U.S. Sun Belt markets. Joining from Leon Multifamily, Starry brings over 20 years of multifamily development experience to the role. Reporting to CEO Scott Everett, Starry will lead the build-out of the development team to support project execution across the firm’s Sun Belt locations, S2 said.
Middleburg, a real estate investment, development and construction firm out of Vienna, Virginia, appointed Aaron Douthit as its new Dallas-based development partner. Douthit will lead the sourcing, execution and advancement of development opportunities for the company as it expands across western markets, Middleburg said.
Douthit most recently served as vice president and area development partner at JPI. He has experience in Class A market-rate apartments, attainable and affordable housing developments across Texas and Southern California.
