Crown Realty Partners, a firm that owns, leases and manages and redevelops commercial property across the country, said its CEO will retire at the end of the month.

Toronto-based Crown said Les Miller, who also is a managing partner and oversees the firm's strategic corporate direction, governance, talent development and other service functions, will be succeeded by a trio of managing partners who will split his current duties.

Emily Hanna, Jamie Christie and Scott Watson will take over as leaders of the organization and use Crown's collaborative partnership model to ensure continuity in driving the business forward, Crown said.

"I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together, and I have complete confidence in Emily, Jamie and Scott to lead Crown to even greater heights," Miller said in a statement.

Crown's portfolio includes the Dundas Edward Centre office building at 901 King St. W in Toronto. It also manages the 1.2 million-square-foot Place de Ville office complex in Ottawa.

In light of Miller's retirement, Hanna will now oversee acquisitions and dispositions and continue leading the firm's investments and capital formation, ESG, and human resources, Crown said. Christie will continue to oversee asset management, property accounting and financial reporting and work with Mark Dimmell, a partner in finance and reporting.

As for Watson, Crown said he will be responsible for property management and construction and work closely with Anthony Kingsley, a partner overseeing the firm's operations. Watson will continue to lead the leasing team with Partner Stefan Teague.

"Les has been an integral part of Crown for more than two decades," Hanna said of the retiring CEO in a statement. "He moved his family from Saskatchewan to help build this firm, and throughout his tenure, he has consistently supported our growth, championed new initiatives, and helped shape a culture of collaboration, innovation and integrity."

Watson said Crown's partnership model has been a key to success.

"With Emily, Jamie, and I continuing to lead the firm as managing partners, this transition marks the next chapter in that evolution," Watson said in a statement.
