Regeneration development specialist Muse hired Michael Ramsden to the role of senior project manager in its Leeds office, with the recruit joining to support across projects in Yorkshire and the North East.
Ramsden has more than a decade of experience in project and commercial management, "having led some of the region’s most complex urban regeneration schemes", the firm said.
They include Wakefield Strategic Regeneration Partnership, where the firm is a development partner. He will continue to work on this project, focused on transforming the city centre with new homes and public spaces, following his move to Muse from Latimer Developments.
At that firm he managed one of Leeds’ largest residential projects focused on creating 1,800 new homes in the city centre. He has also worked on the Baltic Quarter project in Gateshead, where Muse signed a pre-development agreement last week.
"His expertise spans the full development lifecycle, from land acquisition and design development to procurement, cost planning, and stakeholder engagement," the firm said.
It added that Ramsden's appointment comes at a key time for the business as it continues to expand its presence in the region and deliver place-led regeneration in partnership with local authorities and communities.
Simon Dew, director of development management at Muse, said in a statement: "Michael's proven track record in delivering complex, multi-phase developments and navigating challenging regulatory processes will be invaluable as we continue to create vibrant, sustainable places across Yorkshire and the North East."
Baltic Quarter will delivery new homes and offices for Gateshead and is being led by ECF, a partnership between Homes England, L&G and Muse. Gateshead Council is also one of the partners at the scheme.
