CBRE promoted Kevin McLennan to vice chairman, the highest professional title for productive brokers at the world’s largest real estate services firm. McLennan, part of CBRE’s occupier services practice in Chicago, previously served as an executive vice president.
Dallas-based CBRE said McLennan advises publicly traded companies, private equity sponsors and portfolio company management teams on real estate and related capital structure decisions. He has handled matters such as leveraged buyouts, public-to-private conversions and post-initial public offering real estate strategy in multiple property categories. His career spans nearly 25 years and he held prior executive roles at brokerage firms Savills and Steinco.
Real estate investment and management firm Interstate Equities Corp. appointed Nikki Chavez as director of capital formation, as the company seeks to expand its multifamily-focused business in California and the Seattle area. The Los-Altos, California-based company said Chavez will spearhead capital formation across the company’s investments, working with institutional and private investors. She brings nearly a decade of experience, most recently heading capital raising at BKM Capital Partners after previously working at Berkadia, PIMCO and Healthpeak Properties.
Ian Slavin joined Atlanta-based Portman Holdings as vice president of residential development. The national developer said Slavin, based in Boca Raton, Florida, will scout multifamily development opportunities in high-growth Florida regions. He will manage site selection, acquisitions, financing and related matters. Slavin, who joined Portman from MIVO Development Group, has 15 years of industry experience, including prior work at Encore Capital Management.
Continental Realty Corp. promoted Rachel Young to director of multifamily asset management. The Baltimore-based real estate investment and management company said Young, who has been with the firm since 2023, has 13 years of industry experience. She most recently served as Continental’s senior asset manager for multifamily properties. Before Continental, Young worked at Hudson Capital Properties, CAHEC Management, JP Morgan and Lidl.
San Diego-based real estate investment firm Brixton Capital appointed Matthew Bateman to it internal board of advisers. Bateman served more than 20 years at industrial real estate firm Westcore, working his way up to chief operating officer before retiring. He held earlier roles at real estate firms ColRich and Grubb & Ellis.
Rebecca Reed joined Los Angeles-based real estate law firm Cox, Castle & Nicholson as a partner. Reed, based in San Diego, previously worked at law firm Procopio. She represents clients such as developers and landowners in litigation involving environment, land use, zoning, leasing, sales and related matters.
Easterly Asset Management appointed Kevin Heckman as senior vice president of sales for the mid-Atlantic region. The Beverly, Massachusetts-based company said Heckman will work with investment clients in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. He brings more than 15 years of experience. He joined Easterly from Rockefeller Asset Management after prior work at Glenmede Investment Management.
LV Collective, an owner and operator of multifamily and student housing, promoted Jonathan Reyes to president and Christopher Kott to chief investment officer. The Austin, Texas-based company said Reyes, who previously served as its president of student housing, will oversee growth across its nationwide business lines. Kott, who previously served as executive vice president of acquisitions, will lead investments and development of student housing and multifamily properties.
