Private equity giant Blackstone, the largest commercial property owner, has named world No. 4 professional golfer Tommy Fleetwood as its first global brand ambassador as the firm pushes deeper into the private‑wealth market.

“Tommy Fleetwood exemplifies the qualities that define our firm and resonate with our clients — disciplined performance, fierce determination, and high ethical standards,” Jon Gray, president and chief operating officer of Blackstone, said Tuesday in a statement.

Blackstone did not immediately respond to a CoStar News request seeking additional details.

The deal involves Fleetwood wearing Blackstone’s logo in the “front of hat” position when he plays in tournaments globally, according to Fortune, adding the golfer also could mingle with Blackstone clients at events designed to reach customers in a more casual setting than a conference room.

“He’s such a compelling figure, he’s a self-effacing, good high-integrity human being who also happens to be outstanding at what he does,” Gray told Fortune, describing the British golfer as “world class, both as a professional and as a human being.”

The move comes as Blackstone has said private‑wealth investors are central to its long‑term growth strategy, pointing to a large, largely untapped opportunity as affluent individuals remain significantly underallocated to private investments.

The firm’s growing focus on individual capital has also begun to influence how it owns, manages and finances real estate, which plays a key role in appealing to high‑net‑worth investors through vehicles such as Blackstone Real Estate Income Trust.
