Newmark said it promoted Jeff Mayer to senior managing director and national practice leader for hospitality, gaming and leisure, as the company looks to expand its valuation and advisory services geared to those property categories.
Based in New York, Mayer is a certified real estate appraiser in eight states and will lead a national team of hospitality-focused valuation professionals, Newmark said. The 20-year industry veteran held senior positions at CBRE and HVS before joining Newmark in 2018, serving most recently as an executive vice president.
In Washington, D.C., Newmark said it promoted longtime tenant representation leader Mike Shuler to vice chairman. During his two-decade career, Shuler has advised prominent law firms, professional service firms and other large companies. He joined Newmark in 2004 and served most recently as an executive managing director.
Los Angeles-based retail investment and development firm Paragon Commercial Group appointed Jeffrey Berkes as chief investment officer. Berkes brings more than 30 years of retail industry experience, including having served as president and chief operating officer of Federal Realty Investment Trust. Before that, he was Federal’s Western region president and chief investment officer.
Construction services provider Skanska USA promoted Ashley Jeffery to vice president and head of communications for its U.S. building operations. The American division of the Swedish company said Jeffery, based in Tampa, Florida, will lead nationwide communications and branding operations. Her 17-year career includes serving most recently as communications lead for Skanska’s Southeast regional building operations.
BrightSky Residential, a developer focused on single-family, built-to-rent properties, promoted Donny Fineberg to director of capital markets, based in the Miami area. The Irvine, California-based firm, backed by Resmark Cos., said Fineberg will lead joint-venture equity transactions, including sourcing, underwriting and structuring of investments with institutional and private capital partners. He joined BrightSky in 2025 as a senior associate after prior roles at Core Spaces and Heitman.
Student housing-focused real estate investment and management firm Muinzer promoted Steve Teegarden to chief financial officer, based in Chicago. The West Lafayette, Indiana-based company said Teegarden will oversee all financial operations across five regional offices. He served most recently as Muinzer’s director of finance and worked earlier at firms such as Core Spaces, Maven Real Estate Partners and Ivanhoe Cambridge.
Jacob Czarnick joined A&G Real Estate Partners as principal, based in New York. Czarnick brings 23 years of experience as an investment banker, with prior work at firms such as Raymond James & Associates, Perella Weinberg Partners and Credit Suisse First Boston.
Bainbridge Cos., an owner, developer and manager of multifamily properties, added Jennifer Ipock as vice president of operations in its Charlotte, North Carolina, office. Ipock’s 25-year career includes previous work at RKW Residential, overseeing properties in the Carolinas, Florida, Tennessee and Georgia.
Foss Real Estate Partners said it hired Robert Horton as a partner as the Dallas-based company expands its in-house services geared to capital markets. Horton, based in Miami, has 15 years of industry experience. He most recently served as a managing director at Concord Summit after prior roles at George Smith Partners and Brookfield Properties.
