International arrivals to Quebec are increasingly driven by visitors from outside the U.S.

The U.S.-Canada trade dispute that erupted in 2025 resulted in a slight decline in arrivals to Quebec from the U.S., from 344,000 in August 2024 to 312,000 in August 2025. This modest drop is part of a larger, longer-term trend of fewer Americans coming to Quebec. Even with the decrease in U.S. visitors, Americans account for around 60% of all international visitors to Quebec in 2025. International visitors coming to Quebec from countries other than the U.S. have been entering the province at record levels, although this has not yet translated into increased hotel demand.
