Hilco Global names retail director; Core5 promotes executives; Transwestern expands healthcare team

Financial services provider Hilco Global appointed Mitch Friedel as executive director of retail development advisory and leasing in its real estate advisory practice, as it expands its clientele in the retail and mixed-use development categories. Friedel has three decades of experience, with prior roles at firms including Newmark and Related Cos.

Northbrook, Illinois-based Hilco, owned by Orix USA, said Friedel has spearheaded several high-profile retail and mixed-use developments, including Time Warner Center in New York, CityPlace in West Palm Beach, Florida, and the redevelopment of Disney Springs in Orlando, Florida.

Logistics-focused national developer Core5 Industrial Partners promoted Linda Booker to president. Booker, who previously served as an executive vice president and chief financial officer, now leads all daily operations, the Atlanta-based company owned by Japan’s Kajima Corp. said. Core5 also promoted Jennifer Jones to senior vice president and chief financial officer. She previously served as vice president of finance. The promotions were made in advance of the planned March 2027 retirement of CEO Tim Gunter, who will remain in that role through February 2027 to aid with the transition.

Transwestern Real Estate Services hired Bill Boyd as a senior vice president with the firm’s national healthcare capital markets team, as the brokerage seeks to meet growing transaction demand in the property category. Boyd, based in Dallas, joined Transwestern from Cambridge Holdings, where he served as vice president of development and leasing. He held earlier roles at Caddis Partners, United Surgical Partners and Tenet Healthcare.

Populous, a prominent global designer of sports and entertainment venues, hired Cary Hirschstein as its first head of real estate strategy across its Americas offices. The Kansas City, Missouri-based company said Hirschstein will lead its new service focused on planning and designing mixed-use districts near arenas and civic venues. Client services will include site consulting, entitlement procurement and feasibility analysis. Based in New York, Hirschstein has more than 20 years of experience advising sports teams and other clients, with prior roles at consulting firm HR&A Advisors.

Virginia-focused brokerage Cushman & Wakefield|Thalhimer named Keishee Hill as chief financial officer. Hill succeeds David “Chip” Dustin, who is retiring after 24 years with the independently owned, Richmond-based Cushman affiliate that has seven offices employing more than 500 people statewide. Hill served in previous executive roles at Vanderbilt Office Properties and JLL.

New York-based Dune Real Estate Partners promoted Vice Presidents Ben Morrison and Scott Kanofsky to new executive roles, along with senior fund accountant David Gold. The investment firm said Morrison now serves as director of investments, Kanofsky as director of finance and Gold as assistant fund controller on the finance team.

Alex Terauds joined multifamily investment firm CF Capital as acquisitions principal. The Louisville, Kentucky-based company said it is expanding its portfolio in the Midwest and Southeast. Terauds brings more than a decade of experience, serving most recently as chief investment officer and partner at Sunset Property Solutions.

Private equity firm Savory Fund, focused on restaurant development, appointed Clay Dover as CEO. The Salt Lake City, Utah-based firm said co-founder Shauna Smith moved from CEO to a new role as managing director. Dover is the former CEO of restaurant chain Velvet Taco and held prior executive roles at Raising Cane’s and Pei Wei.
