UK law firm Gilson Gray has appointed real estate lawyer Rajan Shori as partner and head of its real estate division in England.
Shori brings two decades of experience to the role, having worked with investors, developers, lenders and corporate occupiers through high-value transactions, acquisitions, and finance deals.
He joins the firm from Hugh James, where he spent the last two years as a partner in corporate real estate and banking. Prior to that, he worked with Faegre Drinker.
Shori was also a partner at two UK Top 50 law firms and led real estate finance at US firm Dorsey & Whitney in London. He was also responsible for the private property department, focusing on high-net-worth individuals and their real estate requirements in London.
Gilson Gray said the appointment marks a key step in its expansion across England and is the latest in a series of high-profile hires and acquisitions as the firm continues to grow its presence in several UK cities, employing more than 450 staff.
Glen Gilson, chairman and managing partner of Gilson Gray, said in a statement: "Rajan’s appointment is another important milestone in our strategic expansion throughout the UK. He is a well-respected legal professional in the real estate space, and his arrival strengthens our presence in England by adding additional expertise in the commercial property market."
Rajan added: "I’m thrilled to be joining Gilson Gray at such an exciting time in the firm’s journey. There is a clear ambition here to redefine legal services across the UK, and I look forward to contributing to that vision by building a top-tier real estate practice in England."
