Jeff Pearey, a regional office agency specialist known by many as "Mr Leeds", is set to leave JLL after close to two decades at the firm.

Pearey confirmed in a LinkedIn post last week that he was stepping back from his role as senior director, UK regional office agency at the end of this month as well as retiring from the firm.

He joined JLL in 2006 as the firm's only Leeds-based director and led the company's operation there, as well as in the North East region covering Yorkshire, Teesside, and Tyne and Wear at the same time.

JLL made Pearey head of UK regional office agency in 2020, which included him being responsible for seven regional teams representing the UK office agency business operating outside London and South East.

Pearey said in his LinkedIn post that he would "enjoy some 'me time'" ahead of any potential return to the property sector in the future. He added: "I’ve enjoyed a great career working alongside some of the best people in the business, whether they be clients, colleagues or fellow professionals.

"I’ve also helped nurture the careers of many who have gone on to have fantastic careers of their own. I’m leaving the business in good health and in very safe hands. I’ve enjoyed leasing offices, being a part of many developments and acquiring offices for some great occupiers."

Pearey has more than 40 years' experience in the property industry in total, having started off as a surveyor in Cambridge. Before joining JLL he worked at real estate firm Chesterton International, now part of BNP Paribas, where he was head of agency and capital markets function, according to his LinkedIn profile.

He was also head of agency at St Quintin, now part of CBRE, for more than 12 years.
