Retail sales in Montreal increased by about $1.3 billion between December 2021 and October 2025, according to the latest available data from Statistics Canada. While growth has been flat when these figures are adjusted for inflation, a few roadblocks that have weighed on Montrealers’ ability to spend appear to be fading in a trend that could help support future retail activity — and retail real estate.
