W. Allen Morris Passes Reins at AMCO to Son
The Allen Morris Co., or AMCO, a diversified real estate firm in the Southeast, has named a new president from within its executive ranks.
W. A. Spencer Morris, most recently the organization's chief investment officer, will take over leadership of AMCO's $1.5 billion investment portfolio and its $2.5 billion development pipeline. In addition to his role as president, he will continue to serve on the board of AMCO and its new business line, AMS Hospitality.
Morris succeeds his father, W. Allen Morris, as president of the firm. The senior Morris will continue as chairman and CEO of the company he has led since 1980. It was founded in 1958 by his late father, Spencer's grandfather, L. Allen Morris.
With offices in Atlanta and Miami, AMCO has several development projects throughout the region and said it is looking at opportunities across the Southeast.
“Spencer has proven that he can successfully engage with every division of our enterprise,” W. Allen Morris said in a corporate statement announcing the move. “We are in a significant stage of growth at AMCO, and I am very much looking forward to working with Spencer in his new role.”
W. A. Spencer Morris was previously with the Related Group, where he served as development associate of its 58-story, 1.3 million-square-foot SLS Lux-Brickell hotel and condominium in Florida as well as other projects.
Daniel Schwimmer, former director of capital markets, has succeeded Morris as CIO of the firm. Before joining AMCO, Schwimmer worked in real estate syndicated finance at Wells Fargo Bank.
Cushman & Wakefield Expands Healthcare Services Team

Global real estate services firm Cushman & Wakefield is expanding its healthcare project management services in the West with the addition of an eight-member team from Petra Integrated Construction Strategies, an end-to-end healthcare facility development firm in Southern California.
Based in the firm's Irvine office, the team is led by Bill Eveloff, who will assume the role of national healthcare practice leader within Cushman & Wakefield's project and development services group. Eveloff was previously the president of Petra in La Palma, California.
The team brings long-term relationships and years of consulting experience in strategic healthcare facility concept, planning, development and project management services as well as project controls and medical equipment planning for acute care and outpatient properties.
“Strategically, the addition of this highly experienced and visionary team from Petra builds upon Cushman & Wakefield’s focus of expanding life science and now bridging personalized medicine,” said Dan Broderick, Cushman & Wakefield’s president of the West region, in a corporate statement.
In addition to Eveloff, who joins Cushman & Wakefield from Petra as a managing director, Dawn Fredrick-Seibert, Susan Harman and Chris Hickman join the firm as directors, Donna Campbell and Angela Daniel will serve as senior project managers, Robert Salas joins the company as project manager and Candy Zamudio becomes a project coordinator.
B. Riley Adds Shilling to Retail Leadership Team

Tim Shilling has joined B. Riley Retail Solutions, a subsidiary of B. Riley Financial, as an executive vice president in Boston.
In his new role, Shilling will work with the leadership team to execute the firm's strategy and growth across the retail sector. He reports directly to B. Riley Retail Solutions CEO Scott Carpenter.
Throughout his career spanning two decades, Shilling has led thousands of in-store liquidations across various retail sectors and overseen value assignments of more than $10 billion for asset-based loans while advising retailers throughout North America. He most recently served as managing director of Gordon Brothers.
Matthews Recruits Sales Executive

Nicole Capobianco has joined Matthews Real Estate Investment Services as vice president of sales enablement and recruiting. She is based in the firm's Phoenix office.
In her new role, Capobianco will focus on sales strategy and service development. In addition, she is responsible for working directly with executive leadership to keep expanding the firm.
Capobianco brings more than 15 years of industry experience to the national real estate brokerage. She previously served as vice president of transaction services at Greysteel, and before that held various sales and management roles at Polaris Pacific, Lululemon and Hendricks-Berkadia.
Lee & Associates Promotes Ruder to Principal

Lee & Associates Atlanta has promoted Mendy Ruder to principal in the firm's Atlanta office.
In his expanded role, Ruder will continue to focus on leasing and sales brokerage for local and national companies in the manufacturing, distribution, logistics and services industries.
Ruder joined Lee & Associates as an associate in November 2020, and since then has completed more than $20 million in completed transactions in Georgia and across the country, earning him Lee & Associates' 2021 Grinder award.
BKF Group Hires Director, Associate Partner

Design firm BKF Group hired Jackie Wilcox as director of interior design and an associate partner in the firm's Chicago practice.
In her new role, Wilcox will lead interior design projects and related business development opportunities across the commercial, office, multifamily, government, hospitality and education sectors.
Wilcox previously served as project director for Partners by Design, where she focused on local corporate interior design projects. Before that, she was with Eckenhoff Saunders Architects in Chicago. Wilcox holds a bachelor's degree in architectural studies from the University of Illinois and is a member of the American Institute of Architects.
Private Multifamily Brokerage Expands Into Indiana

Hoping to build on its success in Ohio, North Carolina-based multi-housing brokerage Capstone Cos. is opening a satellite office in Indianapolis, and has tapped investment sales adviser Ken Burns to lead the office with support from its existing Cincinnati team.
Burns brings more than 25 years of sales and management experience, most recently as general manager and co-owner of Enviro-Master Services of Indianapolis. Before that, he worked at Property Management Solutions in Florida for nearly 19 years.
The Cincinnati team already has a strong presence in the region. Stash Geleszinski, Sherief Gouda and Nathan Murphy have completed more than $150 million in transactions across Indiana throughout their careers, and have over $175 million on the market in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. The team is bolstered by investment analyst William Thurner. Last year, Capstone added offices in Colorado and Florida.
Thalhimer Hires Senior Portfolio Manager

Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer hired Michelle J. Dinkins as a senior portfolio manager with its commercial property services group in Richmond, Virginia.
In her new role, Dinkins will be handling a commercial building portfolio of primarily office properties in the area.
Dinkins brings more than 19 years of commercial real estate property experience, having previously worked at JLL and Cushman & Wakefield, according to her LinkedIn profile.
