Cushman expands retail team; JLL hires chase California, Utah business; MLG names compliance chief

Cushman expands retail team; JLL hires target California, Utah business; MLG Capital names compliance chief

Cushman & Wakefield said it expanded its global retail services by hiring Jessica Gangoso as vice president of emerging brands and Kristen Pash as senior director of shopping center leasing and development for North America. Gangoso is based in Vancouver, British Columbia, and Pash is based in New York City.

Gangoso has more than 20 years of retail and real estate experience in acquisitions, land development, leasing and consulting. Her previous work included founding Vela Retail Advisors, where she consulted for major brands on marketing and expansion. Pash has 25 years of international experience, including prior roles at firms including TSCG and Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield.

Patrick Ryan joined JLL as a senior vice president in the firm’s Irvine, California, office. Ryan, who has 13 years of experience in Orange County, joined JLL from Cushman & Wakefield. He will focus on local and multi-market transactions as a tenant representation broker, after prior work on behalf of Fortune 500 and mid-sized companies worldwide, JLL said.

JLL also added to its multifamily investment sales team in Utah with the hiring of Bryan LaBar as a senior director in Salt Lake City. LaBar, who has eight years of multifamily experience, joined JLL from The Mogharebi Group in Costa Mesa, California.

Brookfield, Wisconsin-based Real estate investment firm MLG Capital hired Kelly Whetstone as chief compliance officer and associate general counsel. Whetstone brings more than 20 years of legal and compliance experience, serving most recently as deputy general counsel at ACA Group, after prior work at Homestead Funds and national law firms.

The Clinical Group named Darren Lizzack and Randy Horning as principals of a new medical properties division focused on landlord representation and investment sales for clients in the healthcare industry. Lizzack and Horning co-founded CREA United, a real estate collaborative of 10 firms working in various commercial property sectors. Before that they worked at brokerage NAI James E. Hanson. Hackensack, New Jersey-based Clinical Group said it has negotiated more than 200 office and healthcare lease and sale transactions on behalf of hospital systems and other care providers.

Ryan Boyle joined brokerage Berkadia as a senior director for its investment sales practice in Phoenix. Boyle, who has 10 years of experience focused most recently on middle-market apartment sales, previously served as a vice president in the multifamily practice of Northmarq.

Aaron Barnard, a senior director for Cushman & Wakefield in Bloomington, Minnesota, was named president-elect of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors, a global trade group. Barnard, a 33-year commercial real estate veteran, will serve a one-year term on the SIOR board of directors after assuming the position at the group’s fall conference this month in Louisville, Kentucky, Cushman & Wakefield said.

NAI Capital Commercial said it added Don Hudson as a senior vice president in its West Los Angeles office, where he will focus on office and industrial property transactions across Los Angeles County. Hudson has more than 30 years of experience, with previous work at firms including Kidder Mathews and CBRE. He has represented clients such as Disney, Accenture, Korn Ferry and Union Bank.

The Irvine, California-based real estate investment firm, Passco Cos., said it hired Thomas Voekler as its chief legal officer, effective Dec. 8. Voekler has 24 years of legal experience, advising clients such as fund sponsors and real estate investment trusts. He served most recently as a partner at law firm Williams Mullen.
