The Urban Land Institute Europe has appointed Alan Dalgleish as vice-president new business, based in London.

Dalgleish has more than 35 years of international real estate experience, much of it in Asia-Pacific, spanning industry leadership, business development, research, consulting, investment advisory and non-profit management, ULI Europe said.

He was chief executive of ANREV, the Asian Association for Investors in non-listed real estate vehicles, from 2012 to 2019, where he led the organisation through a period of significant growth, ULI added.

His earlier career included senior roles with CBRE, Colliers International and Hongkong Land. Most recently, he has served as executive director of the Property Research Trust, "helping to secure new funding partnerships and strengthen the trust’s role in supporting academic research into the built environment".

As vice-president new business the recruit will lead the organisation’s approach to individual and corporate membership, corporate partnerships, sponsorship and account management across Europe. He reports to Simon Durkin, ULI Europe chief executive.

"His role will focus on deepening engagement with existing and new corporate partners, supporting ULI’s National Councils, strengthening member growth and retention, and helping to develop philanthropic and institutional fundraising strategies aligned with ULI’s mission priorities, including decarbonisation, affordable and adequate housing, and educating the next generation of real estate leaders," the organisation added.

Dalgleish said: "I am delighted to be joining ULI Europe at such an important time for the real estate and built environment sectors. ULI’s mission, its convening power and its ability to connect senior industry leaders across markets are highly compelling.

"I look forward to working with members, corporate partners, National Councils and colleagues across Europe to build long-term relationships, support membership growth and help secure the resources needed to advance ULI’s priorities around decarbonisation, housing and the next generation of real estate leadership."

Durkin said: "We are very pleased to welcome Alan, who has extensive industry leadership experience including in Asia and Europe. I look forward to working closely with Alan to drive forward our plans for growth in Europe as we seek to further our mission and priorities."
