McDonald's restaurant opened its doors to its first "town center" restaurant at Columbus' own Easton Town Center on April 30. This is the second largest McDonald's restaurant in the U.S.; it was created to resemble a town center with an outdoor park and raised stage. The 11,500-square-foot building can seat 210 people and is divided into 3 separate zones according to age groups. There is the Families/Kids area with an interactive mini McDonald's and a park for picnics complete with giant soft play equipment shaped like Happy Meal items. The Tweens section is set up for teens, with a karaoke booth and game tables. Finally there is the adults’ section with living room style furniture and high-back booths. Its unique structure caters for all walks of life; there is even a McTreat Center near the front entrance with a walk-up order window for easy street access. The majority of the features at this McDonald's are a first for the restaurant chain. A variety of McDonald's ice cream treats and desserts, cookies, brownies and pastries, as well s hot and cold drinks, are available. The McTreat Center will feature a first of its own, Lavazza specialty coffee, imported from Italy. This new McDonald's restaurant is an "edu-tainment" experience for all.
