Newmark has hired a real estate executive with 30 years of experience to helm the brokerage's operations across Canada.
Norm Taylor, who has worked for several of the world’s largest commercial real estate brokerages, will run Newmark’s daily brokerage business in Canada, including setting the firm's strategic direction and recruiting and retaining professionals, Newmark said in statement.
Taylor will be based in Vancouver, British Columbia, and report to Kevin McCabe, Newmark’s U.S. western region president.
Most of New York City-based brokerage’s business operations are in the United States, but the brokerage is looking to increase its presence and revenue outside its home country.
In addition to Vancouver, Newmark has offices in Toronto, Calgary and Edmonton. The firm also has operations in Latin America, the United Kingdom, the European Union and Asia, according to the company’s most recent annual report.

Prior to joining Newmark, Taylor was a vice president for the British Columbia region at Canadian mortgage firm CMLS Financial Ltd. He also previously served as executive vice president and managing director of CBRE's operations in the province, in addition to leadership roles at JLL and Colliers, according to the Newmark statement.
