From corporate giants to smaller professional services firms, employers across the country stepped up their in-person office requirements in 2025 as firms increasingly moved past the pandemic-related shift to flexible work arrangements and brought employees back into offices in earnest. The escalated in-office mandates helped the office sector rebound after years of depressed leasing activity. Also boosting demand? Some office owners chose to convert their empty buildings to another use, taking supply out of the market.
