Boparan Holdings, the parent company of major food business the Boparan Restaurant Group, has tucked into a 60,000-square-foot headquarters office in Solihull, Birmingham.

CoStar News understands that the restaurant industry giant, which owns brands such as Giraffe, Slim Chickens and Gourmet Burger Kitchen, has acquired Portland House near the city's airport for its own occupation.

Local sources said the deal comes as the business looks to consolidate its offices in the Birmingham area, with CoStar data showing its occupies 9,000 square feet on the third floor of Building 300 at Trinity Park around the corner from Portland House.

The group's LinkedIn page also shows that it has offices at Colmore Court, 9 Colmore Row, in Birmingham city centre, where it has around 5,000 square feet.

CoStar data also shows that Tarmac, the British building materials company, sold the building for an undisclosed fee after exiting the property. It instructed CBRE in June 2023 to sell the property without a quoting price.

Tarmac moved to T3 Trinity Park in Solihull in the third quarter of 2022, taking 17,285 square feet.

Boparan is President of Boparan Holdings, which he founded in 1993, and has more than 25 years’ experience in the food industry.

The deal is a sizeable transaction for the out-of-town Birmingham office market as the city centre had a muted start to the year with 75,522 square feet taken up, read here.
