Avison Young expanded its industrial services team with the addition of Ronan Remandaban as principal and Jesse Miranda as vice president in Chicago. The brokerage said it will advise clients in areas including acquisitions, development, site selection and procurement of electric power as Avison Young seeks to broaden its Midwest services geared to infrastructure, advanced manufacturing and related industrial property categories.
Remandaban brings 25 years of industry experience, working most recently as executive managing director at real estate services firm Bradford Allen after serving in roles at Truss and Lee & Associates. Before joining Avison Young, Miranda worked in brokerage roles at Coldwell Banker, Hansen Realty and most recently Bradford Allen.
Colliers said Ben Nelson joined the firm as a senior vice president in its Reno, Nevada, office as it looks to grow its client base for multifamily services in northern Nevada. Nelson has more than a decade of experience in commercial real estate investment and development, handling multifamily, student housing and mixed-use property transactions. He worked previously as a senior vice president and shareholder at Kidder Mathews.
Secure Properties, a real estate investment firm focused on net-leased properties, appointed Kris Sanderson as a managing director and principal. The New York-based firm said Sanderson will lead nationwide acquisition efforts. She worked most recently as senior managing director at Store Capital, where she served in leadership roles for the past nine years. Before that, she worked at Crosland Southeast and McNeel Properties.
Cushman & Wakefield hired Joey Verrant as chief operating officer for its multifamily asset services. Verrant, based in Chicago, joined Cushman from real estate investment firm Rockwell Property Co., where he served as head of asset management with multifamily operational oversight.
In Phoenix, Cushman & Wakefield added vice chair Chris Hollenback and director Shane Carter to its Retail Investment Advisors practice serving Arizona. Hollenback, who joined Cushman & Wakefield in 2016, also serves as president of the firm’s private capital group for the Southwest region. Carter joined the firm in 2017 and manages a national investment services portfolio with Hollenbeck.
Goodman Real Estate, a Seattle-based firm focused on multifamily property investments nationwide, named Kelli Jo Norris as CEO. Norris, who previously served as Goodman's president, succeeds George Petrie, who recently transitioned from CEO to executive chairman, the company said.
Real estate investment firm Monday Properties hired Mike Berkery as vice president of private wealth management. The Arlington, Virginia-based company said he joined its strategy, capital formation and investor relations team. Berkery brings 15 years of experience in financing and alternative investment services. He worked most recently at Franklin Templeton and held prior roles at Payoneer, Barclay’s and Credit Suisse.
Development and investment firm Greenberg Gibbons appointed Courtney Smith as executive vice president and head of asset management and leasing. The Baltimore-based company that has properties in eight Eastern U.S. states said Smith will focus on expanding its retail and mixed-use portfolios. He joined the firm from Washington Prime Group, where he served as senior vice president of investments and asset management after working at RPT Realty and Retail Properties of America.
Financing firm NewPoint Real Estate Capital hired Tyler Paul as chief credit officer and Marshall Bass as managing director for healthcare bridge loan underwriting. The Plano, Texas-based company also said it added Daniel Trejo as senior asset manager. Paul previously led multifamily underwriting at Grandbridge Real Estate. Bass worked earlier at Whiteford Consulting, and Trejo joined the firm from Basis Investment Group.
