Cushman names Houston chief; Avison Young appoints Phoenix leader; Ferguson hires hospitality director

Travis Overall joined Cushman & Wakefield as managing principal of its Houston operations, leading the advisory business where Cushman has more than 250 employees, including 60 brokers. The firm said Overall will also be involved in Cushman’s 34 million-square-foot Houston property management portfolio and will head talent recruiting efforts.

Overall joined Cushman from Brookfield Properties, where he served as executive vice president for the investment and development firm’s Houston office business. Before that, Overall, who has experience in asset management, development and capital markets, worked at global development and investment firm Hines for more than 19 years.

Avison Young said it appointed 20-year industry veteran James DeCremer as market leader for its Phoenix office, where he will oversee business development across all brokerage service lines. DeCremer has served as a principal at Avison Young since 2019, when it acquired brokerage Strategic Retail Group, where DeCremer was a partner. He will continue to serve as an active retail property broker in his new role, Avison Young said.

Allison Reid joined Ferguson Partners as a managing director and global head of hospitality and leisure, as part of its executive search team in New York. The talent management and consulting firm said it hired Reid to expand its services related to hospitality real estate. She brings three decades of industry experience, having served in prior roles that included chief global growth officer at Aimbridge Hospitality and chief development officer at Kimpton Hotels. She previously led real estate and finance teams at Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide.

Development and investment firm Trammell Crow Co. promoted John Carlson, Chris Rodriguez and Michael Adamo to new regional executive roles. The Dallas-based subsidiary of CBRE said Carlson now serves as managing director for its Midwest region, based in Chicago, and Rodriguez is managing director for its Mid-Atlantic region, based in Washington, D.C. Adamo is now principal for the firm’s Northeast region, based in New York City.

Atlanta-based Stonemont Financial Group appointed Mike Patel to the role of chief operating officer and principal. The real estate investment firm said Patel will oversee nationwide business operations after previously serving as its general legal counsel.

Dallas-based construction services provider Balfour Beatty appointed Justin Maletic as business unit leader for its Central Texas and Arizona building operations. Based in Austin, Texas, Maletic will also lead operations at the company’s office in Scottsdale, Arizona, the firm said, as it seeks to grow its project slate in areas including hospitality, education and tenant improvements.

Talonvest Capital, a Newport Beach, California-based real estate services firm focused on commercial and self-storage properties, launched a new hospitality finance practice led by Jeff Miller as executive director. Miller has worked for more than 30 years in global hospitality real estate, serving most recently as managing director in Wells Fargo's hospitality finance group.

Investment management firm Bailard named Executive Vice Presidents Tess Gruenstein and James Pinkerton to co-head roles for the company’s real estate team. The San Francisco-based firm said Gruenstein and Pinkerton succeeded Preston Sargent, who retired as president and CEO of the Bailard Real Estate Fund at the end of 2025.
