Alexandra Houghton, known as Lil by many, admits her route into the real estate sector was somewhat "classic"; reading Geography at university, before training at what is now Bayes Business School and then landing a graduate role at Drivers Jonas, known today as Deloitte Real Estate.
However, her career since then has been anything but normal, juggling full-time employment with competing in international triathlon events for Great Britain, being the first person at her company to take shared parental leave, and more recently brushing shoulders with Hollywood A-lister George Clooney.
Appearing on CoStar News's Top CREdentials podcast, which returns for a second series this month, Houghton discusses how she has built a career advising local authorities, central government and charities on their property portfolios, briefing figures such as former Defence Secretary Philip Hammond along the way.
Houghton also tells us about her day-to-day responsibilities as head of commercial at Carter Jonas, a role she entered more than a year ago, as well as talking about the company's new filming location services, which she helped to launch this month.
