Rising costs of building apartments have mostly slowed in Ottawa

After increasing substantially in 2021 and 2022, increases in apartment construction costs in Ottawa have slowed. During most of the pandemic, construction cost increases in the province exceeded the average of the largest Canadian Census Metropolitan Areas, as area developers rushed to break ground on new projects to accommodate the city’s robust population growth.
