CBRE expands Las Vegas team; Cushman hire targets affordable housing business; Cresa adds life science broker

CBRE said it expanded its retail-focused services in Las Vegas with the hiring of Dan Hubbard as a senior vice president and Fernando Martinez-Reding as a senior associate. Hubbard joined the firm from Cushman & Wakefield, where he served as managing director and led Hubbard Retail Advisors within Cushman.

Hubbard has spent more than 20 years advising retail and mixed-use property clients. He also worked at Burnham Real Estate and RBI Retail Brokers. Martinez-Reding held earlier roles at Cushman & Wakefield and The Bridge Magazine.

Cushman & Wakefield said Kevin Lynch returned to the firm as an executive director in its valuation and advisory practice geared to affordable housing as Cushman looks to expand its national finance services for multifamily and other properties. Lynch, based in Charlotte, North Carolina, rejoined the firm from Newmark working a previous stint at Cushman and at appraisal firm Fred H. Beck & Associates.

In the Chicago market, Cushman & Wakefield said it added industry veterans Howard Caplan, Nick Saraceno and Steve Aaronson as directors focused on industrial transactions. Caplan, Saraceno and Aaronson previously worked at CTK Chicago Partners, where they advised clients on matters including land use, construction, finance and site selection.

Caitlin Mahoney joined the Boston office of Cresa as a senior adviser in its life sciences practice group, part of what the occupier services firm said is its effort to expand in biotech. Mahoney worked most recently at Colliers, where she served in a similar capacity on the life sciences leasing team, advising biotech and pharmaceutical companies. Before that, she worked at JLL.

Real estate development and investment firm Trammell Crow Co. hired Josh Posnick as global head of capital markets in its office in Washington, D.C. The Dallas-based company said Posnick will lead its equity and debt programs and other operations geared toward property financing. He worked the past 12 years at Mill Creek Residential Trust in D.C., serving most recently as senior managing director of capital markets. He also worked at Deloitte.

Chicago-based CRG said it promoted Matt Dittman to senior vice president and partner to lead the real estate development and investment firm’s industrial projects and transactions in Southeast markets. Dittman is a 15-year industry veteran who served most recently as CRG’s vice president of capital markets after prior roles at firms such as Waterway Capital and William Blair.

Marcus & Millichap Capital Corp., a subsidiary of nationwide brokerage firm Marcus & Millichap, continued its Denver expansion with the hiring of Kevin Prouty as a senior director. Prouty previously served as a vice president with CBRE in Tucson, Arizona. The firm said he has handled property finance matters for clients in multiple property categories.

National development firm Portman Holdings hired Phil Carson as vice president of residential development. The company said Carson, based in Atlanta, will oversee multifamily projects across Georgia. He served most recently as managing director at Mill Creek Residential Trust, where he led its Georgia development. Before that, he held roles at Crescent Communities, Silverpeak Real Estate Partners and J.P. Morgan.

The RMR Group, an alternative asset management firm focused on residential and commercial real estate, appointed Peter Welch as senior vice president and head of its international operations. The Newton, Massachusetts-based company said Welch will handle finance and related business development efforts with global clients and partners. He joined RMR Group from Bain Capital Credit after prior work at Wells Fargo and Goldman Sachs.
