CBRE promotes Chicago executive; Newmark expands data center team; Hilco division names chief operating officer

CBRE promoted Guy Ponticiello to vice chairman, the highest professional title for producers at the world’s largest commercial real estate services firm by revenue. Ponticiello, based in Chicago, is a senior leader in its corporate capital markets practice. He advises corporate and institutional clients on real estate financing, sale-leasebacks and related issues. Ponticiello has worked at CBRE for more than 20 years, following 18 years with JLL.

In New York, the firm’s independently operated affiliate, CBRE Investment Management appointed Xi Huang as head of separate accounts in its Americas direct real estate practice. The company said Huang, currently a managing director and portfolio manager, will take on added duties in the newly created role. She has more than 20 years of industry experience, including prior stints at Tishman Speyer and Clarion Partners.

Newmark hired Cate Agnew as a managing director in the data center and life science specialty practice within its valuation and advisory division. The company said Agnew, based in Pasadena, California, will advise clients in Newmark’s expanding global data center advisory business. Agnew brings more than 30 years of U.S. and international experience, having served earlier as chief review appraiser at Natixis CIB and U.S. Bank. She also has worked at TIAA and Cornerstone.

Ted Tomaras joined Hilco Global as chief operating officer in the firm’s professional services division. The Northbrook, Illinois-based financial services company said Tomaras will oversee operations across multiple practices, focusing on infrastructure and business line integration and growth. His nearly two-decade career includes previous work as global chief operating officer and chief financial officer for JLL’s hotels and hospitality group. He held other global executive positions in JLL’s risk advisory and capital markets practices.

Commercial real estate finance provider Concord Summit Capital expanded into the Dallas-Fort Worth region with the appointments of Michael Laurencelle as senior managing director and Tom Laurencelle as managing director. Miami-based Concord Summit said the brothers previously served as managing directors in JLL’s capital markets practice. Michael Laurencelle’s 30-year career also includes prior senior leadership roles at Greystone, Community Preservation Corp., Pinnacle Financial Partners and BankFinancial. Tom Laurencelle worked at firms including Greystone, Community Preservation and Hunt Real Estate Capital during the past decade.

Hailey Curran joined MBL Title as a commercial closing attorney in its Dallas office as the company expands its commercial real estate services nationwide. Curran served in prior roles at firms including Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Co. and Stewart Title.

Machine Investment Group said Charlie Leonard joined the New York-based real estate company as a partner, focused on investments and capital formation. Leonard served most recently as co-head of the North America transactions group at Rockwood Capital. He also has worked as a first vice president at CIM Group.

Kirksey Architecture named Cheryl Diamond as director of business development in a newly created role. The company said Diamond, based in Houston, will focus on business growth across its Texas offices, with an initial focus on science, technology, healthcare and other commercial and residential projects. She joined Kirksey from architecture firm Corgan.

Multifamily property service provider Cross Street promoted three executives and made a new hire as part of ongoing expansions in regions including Chicago, Denver and Cleveland.

The Chicago-based company promoted Oren Pollack to managing partner, Erin Higgins to vice president of leasing and Taylor Maggi to vice president of marketing and systems. Laura Ballou joined the firm as a senior market analyst. Pollack previously served as vice president of sales at Cross Street.
