CIM Group expands finance team; Lee & Associates names capital advisory chief; Wareham hires target Bay Area business
Joseph Shanley joined CIM Group as managing director in its New York office, as the property investment and development firm seeks to expand its credit-focused services. The company said Shanley will serve as a senior member of the investment team and focus on loan origination and related finance matters.
Shanley has more than two decades of experience, having launched Haven Capital in 2020 on behalf of Ares Management and Regis Group. He worked earlier at SL Green Realty Corp., where he served as a vice president in the firm’s investment group.
Brokerage Lee & Associates hired 35-year industry veteran John Black as an executive vice president. Based in Columbia, Maryland, Black will focus on capital advisory services and oversee transactions involving 80 Lee & Associates affiliate offices nationwide, the firm said. He previously worked at firms including MacKenzie Capital, Draper & Kramer Realty Advisors, MHI Hospitality and Maryland National Bank.
Wareham Development hired Judy Wetterer as director of community relations and Jennifer Barrett as director of marketing and communications. The San Rafael, California-based company said Wetterer and Barrett, who each has more than 20 years of industry experience, will aid the firm’s efforts to expand business in the San Francisco Bay Area.
New hires, promotions and other personnel changes
JLL appointed Ronnie Deyo as president of its Houston offices, effective Jan. 1, 2026. The firm said Deyo will succeed longtime Houston leader Dan Bellow, who will serve in an advisory role as chairman for leasing advisory. Deyo has more than 30 years of office tenant representation experience and will lead JLL’s brokerage teams in Houston and Louisiana, overseeing operations of more than 150 employees, the firm said.
Commercial property finance service provider Greysteel acquired San Diego-based Nara Advisors, led by CEO and founder Jason Lee, for an undisclosed price as part of a Southern California expansion. Lee is now a managing director with Greysteel, a firm based Bethesda, Maryland. Greysteel said Nara's Southern California offices in San Diego, Orange County, Long Beach and the Inland Empire will be integrated as Greysteel locations.
Matt Pomeroy rejoined Sagard Real Estate as managing director of valuations, based at the investment service firm’s Denver headquarters. Pomeroy, a 20-year industry veteran, previously served in executive roles at Sagard, National Valuation Consultants and most recently Chatham Financial.
Cavan Cos., a Scottsdale, Arizona-based developer of build-to-rent single-family housing in the Southwest and Midwest, appointed Norm Miller as CEO. Miller has nearly 30 years of industry experience, including 17 years with publicly traded companies.
Walter Miller joined law firm Cole Schotz as a member of its real estate department in Dallas. Schotz has more than 25 years of experience in real estate and finance transactions in Texas and throughout the United States.
