Newmark expands healthcare team

Newmark expanded its healthcare practice with the hiring of Kyle Arnold in Denver and Robert Tyler in Houston. Both are formerly with JLL and have a combined 25 years of health industry experience. Newmark said Arnold is now senior managing director of healthcare consulting and will focus on health system portfolio management, data-centric location strategies and related functions for industry clients in Denver. He also held prior roles at Healthcare Trust of America and CBRE.

Tyler joined Newmark as a vice president of property management and will oversee operations for the firm's Houston area healthcare clients, the company said. He previously worked at Rockwell Management, Brookfield Office Properties and Boxer Property.

New York-based Newmark has been expanding its consulting, finance and other healthcare-focused property services in several U.S. regions during the past year. 

JLL pursues Boston multifamily business

Jon Bryant and John Flaherty joined JLL as managing directors in Boston, where they now co-lead the multifamily investment sales and advisory team serving the New England region.

Bryant and Flaherty served most recently as senior directors on Cushman & Wakefield’s multifamily advisory team, handling acquisitions and dispositions.

Bryant also held prior roles at Colliers and Boston Realty Advisors. Flaherty also worked at Colliers and earlier served as a marketing intern with the NHL’s Boston Bruins.

The two will report to senior managing directors Chris Angelone and Brett Paulsrud, who serve as co-heads of JLL’s Boston capital markets group. 

NAI Robert Lynn names retail president

Real estate services firm NAI Robert Lynn appointed Giancarlo Carriero as president of its Dallas retail division. The company said Carriero, who has handled more than $300 million in transactions in a two-decade career, will oversee NAI Robert Lynn’s retail services, including land sales and leasing representation for landlords and tenants across the Dallas region.

Carriero worked most recently at DuWest Realty and served in prior roles at Brookfield Retail, Cypress Equities, MGHerring Group, Tricom Real Estate Group and tech campus operator Port San Antonio. Dallas-based NAI Robert Lynn is part of New York-based real estate services firm NAI Global. 

Matt Construction chooses new CEO

General contractor Matt Construction appointed Brian Saenger as its new president and CEO. The Santa Fe Springs, California-based company said Saenger, who worked most recently as president and CEO of Los Angeles-based development firm The Ratkovich Co., succeeds co-founder Steve Matt, who transitioned from CEO to chairman of Matt's board of directors.

Saenger held various senior leadership roles at Ratkovich during the past 15 years, handling more than $500 million in acquisitions. Ratkovich and Matt Construction previously worked together on projects including the conversion of Howard Hughes’ former Spruce Goose hangar into Google’s Los Angeles headquarters. Matt Construction also promoted Jason Mosier to chief commercial officer and executive vice president.

Multifamily firm RedPeak names CEO

Multifamily owner and developer RedPeak named Josh Foley as its new chief executive officer after an extensive national search. The Denver-based company said Foley, who worked most recently at Essex Property Trust, took the CEO reins from RedPeak co-founder Mark Windhager, who is retiring after leading the firm for 25 years.

Foley brings more than 25 years of industry experience, also holding prior leadership roles at Irvine Co. and Pinnacle Property Management Services.

Founded in 2001, RedPeak owns a portfolio of more than 50 properties across 14 neighborhoods in the Denver region, housing more than 5,000 residents.
