Orange County has earned a reputation for being home to many automakers, including the North American headquarters for Hyundai, Kia and Mazda, along with the regional headquarters and a design center for Ford. The concentration of engineers in the automotive industry has created a deep talent pool that has attracted electric car makers to set up headquarters in the Southern California county. Rivian, Karma and Lordstown Motors all have their headquarters in Irvine.
