CBRE hired industrial sales and leasing specialist Mark Roddy as a vice president at the brokerage's office in Tacoma, one of the most active warehouse areas of Puget Sound.
Roddy previously worked for nearly 13 years at Prologis, the world's biggest warehouse owner and developer, where he led leasing transactions as senior leasing manager and assisted with investment property sales and acquisitions, according to a CBRE statement.
The Washington State University graduate worked with brokers at CBRE and other companies for Prologis industrial developments in Puyallup, Sumner, Fife and other south Puget Sound cities, according to the San Francisco-based real estate investment trust.
The move reflects strong demand for industrial property in the region where Roddy will focus.
Nearly 80% of the roughly 4 million square feet of warehouse and logistics space under construction has been leased prior to completion in the Tacoma area, according to CBRE Research.
Tacoma and nearby cities recorded some of the strongest tenant demand of any industrial submarket in the greater Seattle region in the second quarter, according to CoStar and CBRE data.
Roddy’s experience working for Prologis “will be a great asset to our industrial team and clients,” John R. Miller, CBRE's executive managing director for the Pacific Northwest and market leader for greater Seattle, said in a statement.
