Colliers expands New York team; Newmark hires three Dallas directors; JLL adds healthcare principal

Corey Horowitz joined Colliers as a senior vice president in its New York office. The firm said Horowitz will focus on office leasing and related advisory services for clients in the tri-state region that also includes portions of New Jersey and Connecticut. Horowitz, who has 20 years of experience, joined Colliers from Mohr Partners, where he served as a managing partner and co-market leader of its tri-state region.

In Orlando, Florida, Colliers said it hired Rafael Mendez as a senior associate focused on providing industrial services in Central Florida. Mendez brings a decade of experience, working most recently at Saunders Real Estate.

Newmark added Dalton Knipe, Weston King and Lauren Esquivel as directors in its Dallas office as the firm looks to expand industrial and office leasing business in the region. The trio joined Newmark from JLL.

Newmark said Knipe and King are focused on industrial agency leasing throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and Esquivel will handle office agency leasing. Knipe and King both worked earlier at Cushman & Wakefield, and Esquivel held prior roles at Holt Lunsford Commercial, Hanover Group and Trammell Crow Co.

JLL hired Marsha McVicker as solutions development principal in its healthcare division, part of firm's larger efforts to boost real estate services for clients in that industry. The company said McVicker, based in Chicago, will be involved in healthcare business development and client support. She has 25 years of experience, most recently at healthcare services firm Love Your Life Assistance, or LYLA, where she was the founder and CEO.

Multifamily owner and operator American Landmark Apartments named Adam Smolyar as chief innovation and technology officer. The Tampa, Florida-based company that focuses on the Sun Belt said Smolyar will oversee cybersecurity, data analytics and related technology systems. He brings 30 years of experience, working most recently as UDR’s director of innovation initiatives and tech investments. He held earlier roles at Urban Land Institute and firms such as Savills, Blue Cross Blue Shield and KPMG.

Charleston, South Carolina-based Sands Investment Group appointed Mike Gallegos as executive managing director. Gallegos, based in the Dallas area, will lead investments in Texas, California and other Western growth regions, the commercial real estate advisory firm said. His 20-year career includes prior work at Massimo Group and SVN International Corp.

Cousins Properties hired Jenna Borcherding as a vice president and managing director for its Phoenix operations, and Will Crawley as senior vice president and managing director at its office in Austin, Texas. The Atlanta-based real estate investment trust said Borcherding has more than 14 years of experience; she worked most recently as a senior director at VanTrust. Crawley’s 15-year career includes serving as a principal at Endeavor Real Estate Group.

Beverly Hills, California-based property investment firm Lunada Rose Partners said it added Macrae Carden as an associate focused on acquisitions, financing and related asset management duties. Carden held earlier roles at RAC Corp. and Talon Composites.

Atlanta-based Stonemont Financial Group hired 20-year industry veteran Lindsay Kindlon as co-head of industrial real estate. Kindlon, worked previously at Logistics Property Co. and Ares Management Corp., is based in Chicago, and focused on expanding the investment firm’s Midwest portfolio, the company said. Stonemont also hired 10-year veteran Corbin Stall to lead its Texas regional division, based in Dallas and also overseeing business development in Austin, San Antonio and Houston. Stall worked most recently at Leon Capital Group, with prior roles at Stream Realty Partners and JLL.
