Homes England has named Legal & General's head of Capital Investing as its chief investment officer.
Simon Century has worked at L&G for the last nine years and started his current role in November, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Before moving into that position he was managing director of housing for more than eight years.
He is also a board member across multiple real estate businesses, including developer Bruntwood SciTech and retirement residential specialist Inspired Villages.
Century was vice-chair of the British Property Federation's Affordable Housing Committee up until this month.
He will take up his role at Homes England in September, replacing Marcus Ralling who was made interim CIO in February last year.
Century said in a Homes England LinkedIn post: "I’m delighted to be joining Homes England to lead the Agency’s investment activities, particularly helping to shape the setup of the National Housing Bank.
"I look forward to continuing to work closely with partners to enable sustainable and innovative investment in housing and regeneration."
Homes England CEO Eamonn Boylan added: "Simon brings a wealth of experience from roles in the investment and housing sectors and will be a great addition to the Agency’s leadership team.
"I’d like to thank interim CIO Marcus Ralling for his significant contribution and commitment to the Agency."
Homes England is the government’s housing and regeneration agency and is responsible for delivering private-public housing partnerships and affordable homes.
