Twin Cities unemployment rate hits highest level in over four years

While overall job growth holds steady, bifurcation across employment sectors persists

The unemployment rate for the Twin Cities metropolitan area rose to 4.1% in August, up from 3.3% 12 months ago and the highest level in over four years, according to the latest Bureau of Labor Statistics data. Nationally, the unemployment rate remained flat year over year at 4.5%.
