Walgreen's Acquiring 25 Snyder's Drug Stores

Snyder's Shutting Down Remaining Company-Owned Stores

Walgreen Co. (NYSE: WAG)(NASDAQ: WAG) is acquiring the pharmacy business and "certain other assets" of 25 company-owned Snyder's Drug Stores located in Minnesota. Walgreens said it would continue to operate "certain locations" of the Snyder's chain, while other stores would be closed and the prescriptions files transferred to other nearby Walgreens stores.
