CIM Buys Apt. Portfolio From Gables for $113M

L.A. Group Enters 2 TX Markets With Purchase of 820 Units

CIM Group, a Los Angeles-based investment company that targets real estate in urban communities, marked its entrance into the Dallas and Houston markets with its purchase of four apartment communities. Gables Residential Corp., an Atlanta-headquartered REIT that owns, develops and manages multifamily complexes and mixed-use developments, sold the 820-unit portfolio for $113 million, or about $137,805 per unit.
