Unemployment rate jumps across Sacramento region

Reaches highest level since 2021

The Sacramento region’s unemployment rate jumped 100 basis points month over month to 5.3% during June, according to the latest jobs report released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. That was 40 basis points below California’s statewide rate, and it was 50 basis points above the local rate for 12 months earlier. It was also the highest rate for Sacramento since 2021.
