Beaumont, Texas, sees weakest employment growth since 2020

Mining, logging and construction sector posts the steepest job losses

Preliminary data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics shows Beaumont, Texas, a city on the Gulf Coast between Houston and Lafayette, Louisiana, along I-10, added just 700 jobs in 2025, its weakest performance since 2020 and below the long‑term average of roughly 855 jobs per year.
