Unemployment Rates for Many States Declined in March

Thirty Fall Below National Average

The U.S. unemployment rate fell to 6.0% in March, its lowest level since April of last year, as the nation shut down in an effort to contain the coronavirus. Unemployment rates have generally been falling since then but remain elevated when compared to days prior to the pandemic.
