Justus Home Builders Inc. recently obtained approval for a 40,000-square-foot office building to be built on a 4.5-acre land parcel at U.S. 31 and Old Meridian Street near St. Vincent’s Carmel Hospital Campus in Carmel. Even though the company may choose to occupy up to 8,000 square feet in the building, it is attempting to sell the land to a potential user looking for ownership. Walt E. Justus of Justus Home Builders Inc. originally selected the site because of its mostly wooded setting, easy access and visibility to U.S. 31. It also sits adjacent to Carmel’s Meadowlark Park, which has paved connections to the popular Monon Trail. Support for a roundabout-inspired interchange to serve the site and St. Vincent’s Carmel Hospital has been announced by the Indiana Department of Transportation. The 4.5 acres, which are currently being labeled as 700 Pro Med Lane in the Pro Med Office Park, are currently for sale for $1.7 million, or about $379,000 per acre, through Ross Reller of Meridian Real Estate.
