Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties saw the tenth-highest combined increase in population from July 2022 through July 2023 after seeing population contractions since 2019. With over 6.18 million residents, the tri-county area has reached a new population high. This gain in population, while positive, comes from lower-income international migrants, who typically make below-average incomes and don’t qualify for new luxury rental housing that is being built.
