Nonfarm payrolls decline in recent data

Kansas City’s labor market softened over the past year, with nonfarm payrolls declining by 4,900 jobs in April compared to last year, according to the latest data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. This was the largest annual decline in the market since late 2021.
