Redevco, one of Europe’s largest real estate managers, has recruited Lara Young as its head of sustainable operations.
Young, who started her role on 19 January, will be based in the firm's London office and report to Chris Fleetwood, chief operating and sustainability officer.
Redevco said she will "drive the implementation of [its] sustainability agenda, including its commitment to achieving net zero carbon across the portfolio by 2040".
She will also oversee the integration of ESG principles across property development, asset management and operations, ensuring the business meets evolving regulatory requirements and industry reporting standards.
Young joins from Stoneweg, which acquired Cromwell's European platform in 2024, where she was group head of ESG, leading sustainability initiatives across Europe and Australia.
Prior to that, she held senior roles at Costain, including group climate director and group carbon manager. She is also a charter environmentalist and fellow of both the Institute for Sustainability and Environmental Professionals and Institution of Civil Engineers.
Chris Fleetwood, chief operating and sustainability officer at Redevco, said in a statement: "Lara brings deep expertise and passion for driving meaningful change.
"Her leadership will be instrumental as we continue to embed sustainability across all asset classes and introduce new initiatives such as our nature and biodiversity policy.
"I look forward to working closely with Lara as we build on our strong foundation and create buildings that enrich communities and deliver long-term resilience."
Young added: "I am delighted to join Redevco and lead its sustainability efforts during this exciting phase of growth. Redevco’s unwavering commitment to embedding sustainability at the heart of its strategy resonates deeply with my own values and experience.
"I look forward to working with the team to deliver innovative solutions that create lasting environmental and social value."
