After spending 18 years working in New York, new CBRE South Florida managing director Susan Bands, pictured in the white hat, took the opportunity to enjoy some of the spoils of having relocated to the Sunshine State.
Last week, Bands and several members of CBRE's Fort Lauderdale, Florida-based leadership team went fishing and caught a surprise.
"I had never actually seen the teeth" of a barracuda before, she said in a LinkedIn post. The pictures she shared included a close-up of one complete with several razor-sharp teeth exposed. The fish are known for their scary appearance and ferocious appetite.
Bands left Marcus & Millichap, where she had risen to regional manager of the brokerage's Manhattan and Westchester, New York, and New Haven, Connecticut, offices, in April and started her new job at CBRE in South Florida the following month.
Although Visit Florida, the state's tourism marketing corporation, says barracuda are "delicious and perfectly safe to eat if you consume only the small ones," Bands passed up the chance to taste it. "PS - we threw it back in :)," she said in the post.
