Sharply declining industrial supply keeps vacancy rate in Minneapolis among lowest nationally

A record wave of development begins to recede while demand remains resilient

The Twin Cities industrial market has finally reached the end of a two-year wave of record completions. From mid-2022 through the second quarter of 2024, developers completed over 17.5 million square feet of industrial projects across the metropolitan area, a tally that exceeds the cumulative inventory expansion in the 14 years leading up to the pandemic.
