Retail sales in Calgary reached just under $40 billion in 2025, up a modest 2.7% from 2024. However, vehicle sales in Calgary struggled, slipping 1.8% and acting as a drag on what would have otherwise been a stronger year of retail sales growth. Backing out vehicle sales from the total, consumer spending increased by 4.5%.
