French real estate developer and contractor Groupe Legendre has promoted Thomas Vandecasteele to deputy chief executive manager and member of its executive committee, Comex.
Vandecasteele is managing director of Legendre UK, its British arm, and leads the group’s operations in London, Jersey and Geneva. He joined the business in 2018.
In his new role, Legendre said Vandecasteele will "help shape and deliver [its] strategic roadmap" across its construction and real estate activities, "driving innovation, technical excellence, and environmental and social responsibility".
The group, which has been in the UK for around a decade, said that Vandecasteele's promotion reflects its ambition to expand its overseas presence. He will continue to oversee his existing regions while leading Legendre’s international growth strategy, it added.
Vandecasteele has more than two decades' experience in construction and an MBA from London Business School. He began his career in France with development company Bouygues in 2003, before moving to Bouygues UK in 2005.
Vincent Legendre, chairman of the executive board of Groupe Legendre, said in a statement: "Thomas’ appointment reflects our confidence in the strength of our international platform. His experience and strategic vision will help us consolidate our position in existing markets and open new opportunities abroad."
