John MacDonell joined Cushman & Wakefield as a managing director in its Raleigh office as the real estate services firm works to boost its agency leasing business across North Carolina's Triangle region.
MacDonnell will co-lead the agency leasing team alongside Doug Cook, Cushman said. Together, they will oversee strategy for the Raleigh-Durham office and life science and industrial assets. MacDonnell joined the firm from JLL, During his more than 20-year career, he has been responsible for over $250 million worth of leasing transactions involving a total of 750,000 square feet of commercial real estate.
Stream Realty Partners added Jennifer Guillen as the national commercial real estate firm’s Atlanta-area regional managing director of property management. In her new role, Guillen will oversee property management experience across Stream's Georgia and Florida offices and industrial portfolio, lead regional property management teams, strengthen client relationships and support continued growth throughout the Southeast, the firm said. She brings over 20 years of experience to the position, having held various positions at Taurus Investment Holdings, MDH Partners, GLP, CBRE and Prologis.
Crescent Real Estate hired Reid Goetz as managing director of industrial. In his new role, Goetz will lead the Fort Worth, Texas-based firm’s national industrial investment and development platform, Crescent said. Having more than 20 years or experience, Goetz previously served as senior vice president and industrial team lead at mixed-use developer AllianceTexas and has been directly involved in over 26 million square feet of industrial transactions.
Aakash Kumar joined Marcus & Millichap Capital Corp., the lending arm of Marcus & Millichap, as a director in Raleigh, North Carolina. A hospitality financing veteran, Kumar will report to Marc Sznajderman, and continue his focus on hospitality-related deals, alongside multifamily, industrial, retail and senior housing opportunities, the firm said. He previously worked as a senior associate at Pineapple Capital Group.
Richmond, Virginia-based real estate investment trust Capital Square Housing Trust appointed Gus Remppies as president. Remppies joined Capital Square as the REIT has expanded its portfolio to 10 multifamily sites concentrated in the Southeast. An industry veteran with over 30 years of experience, he most recently served as president of Capital Square Living, a wholly-owned property management subsidiary of Capital Square Living, the REIT's sponsor.
Miami-based law firm Bilzin Sumberg appointed Jimmy Morales as special counsel. The former Miami-Dade County chief operating officer, who resigned from his county position in June, will counsel the firm’s clients on real estate, development, public-private partnerships and municipal affairs, Bilzin Sumberg said.
Bart Tantillo and Christina Trevenen joined Greysteel’s healthcare investment sales practice in Philadelphia as the firm’s newest advisers.
The pair will work on opportunities the national commercial real estate advisory firm is pursuing in the local market, including investment sales and debt and equity placement, the firm said.
